While the Community Foundation does not charge nonprofits to participate in Give Local Louisville nor does it collect any fees, this generous donation from the Swope family will offset the credit card and platform provider fees - last year, roughly 5.7% - and allow nonprofits to pocket more money for their amazing causes. The family has been named this year’s ‘Hero Sponsor’ by the Community Foundation of Louisville.

What is a “Unique Gift”?
A “Unique Gift” is defined as one gift of $10 or more to one organization from one donor. Multiple gifts made by the same donor to the same organization will only be counted as one “unique gift.” Donors can make eligible gifts to multiple organizations. Example: If a donor makes more than one donation to the same nonprofit organization, that donor will only get credit for one “unique gift” to that specific nonprofit organization, for the purpose of awarding prizes with “Unique Gift” eligibility criteria; however, if a donor gives to two or more nonprofit organizations, that donor will be counted as a "unique" donor for each nonprofit to which a gift is made.
What is a Golden Ticket?
A Golden Ticket provides randomly selected donations with a $1,000 boost; that means a donation of as little as $10 can become $1,010! Delta Dental will provide 30 Golden Tickets throughout the day on September 15, one every hour for 24 hours, and an extra six during the nonprofit rally. For each drawing, the Community Foundation of Louisville will randomly select a donation from all donations received during that hour, using a random number generator. Community Foundation staff will announce the winning nonprofits and donors on social media channels throughout the day.
Can gifts be restricted to certain programs or projects?
In advance of September 15, each participating organization will receive a link that is specific to their organization. That link will connect to a spreadsheet that will be updated with donor information in real-time throughout the day on September 15. The spreadsheet will include all donor information.
How should my organization acknowledge a donor's gift?
All donors will receive an e-receipt from the Community Foundation of Louisville that will serve as their tax receipt; therefore, participating nonprofits do not need to provide a receipt to donors. However, nonprofits should provide the donors with a "thank you" for their gift and an acknowledgement of their support.
